Recovery Mode on a smartphone such as LG Rebel LTE is there to make sure people have a way to fix and recover their phone from bad things that happen to it.

It may be as simple as wipe cache partition or perhaps a more drastic action as to factory reset the phone.

For whatever reason is that the first thing that people should do is boot the phone into Recovery Mode.

The process is surprisingly simple and it won’t take a long time. The simple guide below should help you to boot your LG Rebel LTE into Recovery Mode and give you access to an array of options in there:

  1. Power off the phone.
  2. Once the power is off, press and hold Power button and Volume Down button.
  3. Keep pressing both buttons until LG logo appears on the screen. Release it only for a second before pressing them again.
  4. If you do it correctly, the phone should boot into Recovery Mode and once it show Recovery Mode menu, you release your hold on both buttons.

The thing about Recovery Mode is that you can just touch the screen to make your selection.

You have to use the old-fashioned way, in this case, use Volume button to move between the menus. There are only several options available in there so you don’t have to worry too much.

Using the same Volume button, you can highlight the option you want to take and press the Power button to select it.

Depend on the option you take, it may take a while before it finished the process. Once you did with it, choose the “Reboot System Now” option where it will take you out from recovery mode and go back to standard operating mode.

Now you can observe the change that took place after you do whatever you do in Recovery Mode.

  1. I completed these steps on my lg rebel 3 (L158VL) and got safe mode. I’m trying to find a way to access “network mode” on a tracfone for straight talk.
LG manufactures the phone with the setting but tracfone had it taken out of the settings during the programming process.
I can not switch my network mode manually or update my PRL manually. Any suggestions?
