Devices Capable of Remote Unlocking

If Activated Before November 23, 2021 (any network)

  • Phone must be in working condition and turned on
  • Phone must not be reported lost, stolen, or involved in fraud.
  • It was activated by purchasing and redeeming a TracFone (Verizon Value) airtime plan
  • Must have at least 12 months of paid service
  • Unlocking is done upon request

If Activated On or After November 23, 2021:

  • Verizon Network: Automatically unlocked after 60 days of paid service
  • T-Mobile or AT&T Network: Unlocking available upon request after 12 months of paid service

Devices NOT Capable of Remote Unlocking

(Most Android devices bought before June 2023)

If Activated Before November 23, 2021 (any network)

  • Phone must be in working condition and turned on
  • Phone must not be reported lost, stolen, or involved in fraud.
  • Must have been activated with paid TracFone service
  • Must have at least 12 months of paid service
  • Unlocking is done upon request

If Activated On or After November 23, 2021:

  • Verizon Network: Unlock available after 60 days of paid service, with SMS notification and unlock instructions
  • T-Mobile or AT&T Network: Unlock available after 12 months of paid service

Early Unlock Fees

If you request to unlock your phone before completing the required service period, TracFone may still unlock it but charge a fee up to $300, depending on how long the service was active.

How to Unlock Your TracFone?

If your device meets the eligibility criteria, follow these steps to unlock it:

  • Enter your phone number or serial number to check if your phone qualifies.
