Design

In terms of design, the Nokia C100 looks very ordinary. The look is quite familiar. You will see the phone’s layout in the most on-budget smartphones. It comes in blue color with 175g in weight and the dimensions of 149.6 x 71.9 x 9.6mm. This size fits perfectly in our palm hands.

In the front area, you will notice a frame made from toughened glass. Alongside, there is a 5.4-inch display screen with bezels surrounding it. The top and bottom bezels come wider than the other side. There is also a front-facing camera and the Nokia logo on the bottom.

Meanwhile, in the back area, it is more straightforward. You will only see a rear camera and a flash on it. There is also a Nokia logo placed vertically below it.

Display

Nokia C100 Display

The Nokia C100 N152DL smartphone is equipped with a 5.4-inch display screen. Actually, it is not the biggest screen compared to the other Nokia smartphones. However, with the low prices, we can still enjoy vivid screen experiences with this phone.

Along with the size screen, the Nokia C100 has an aspect ratio of 18:6. With this ratio, users are allowed to experience wide-screen viewing. You will have enough room to zoom in/out and fill the display.

Thanks to the 720 x 1440 resolutions, users will have a pleasant screen choice. Even though it is an entry-level smartphone, the screen quality is almost identical to their mid-range smartphone choice. It produces accurate and vivid colors.

Camera

Nokia C100 Camera

Don’t expect something extra for the camera. The Nokia C100 N152DL only has a single rear camera with an 8MP lens and a 5MP selfie camera at the front. This camera feature is pretty standard, but it still satisfies us in some aspects.

The rear camera can take sharp pictures, and the colors don’t become oversaturated. At least you can upload your images on social media shamelessly. As for the selfie camera, you can try the face retouch in portrait mode. This feature will produce sharper shots and blur backgrounds. It all can be used very easily.

More advanced, you can get an instant translation of the foreign text or sign language by only pointing the camera at those.

Storage

For storage, the Nokia C100 (TF HMD Nokia N152DL LTE) has 32GB of internal capacity. Unfortunately, users can only enjoy around half of those. This issue is caused by the preloaded apps and system caches available on your phone. However, it is a common issue for every smartphone. So, you gotta be prepared for this.

One of the ways you can try to have extra storage is by expanding the internal storage using the MicroSD card. You can also expand up to 256GB of memory.

But remember, this MicroSD card doesn’t come in the box, so you must buy it separately. If you’re not interested in expanding the storage, you can choose to regularly free up the internal capacity.

Performance

Nokia C100 Side View

Next part, we are going to talk about the Nokia C100 performances. This phone is powered by a 2GHz MediaTek Helio A22 MT6761. This chipset was released in 2018 – which is outdated for today’s smartphones. However, it’s common for a budget smartphone. So, we understand when we find some underwhelming performances.

There are some struggles here and there. There are no significant errors if you do simple tasks such as texting and surfing on social media or web browsers. Multitasking can be easy at the beginning. As time went by, we witnessed some lags and crashes when opening many apps simultaneously.

The Nokia C100 paired the chipset with 3GB RAM to support the performance of the phone. This RAM size is decent enough to boost up the smartphone. We also found it rare to have this RAM capacity on a budget phone.

With this RAM capacity, the phone can work smoothly. Launching an app will be fairly easy. However, you will find it hard to handle if you are doing heavy activities such as playing 3D games with nice graphics.

The Nokia C100 N152DL uses Android 12 as its operating system. We were really surprised when we found out this budget phone features the latest android OS. This Android 12 has many remarkable improvements that are useful for users.

The OS offers users a smoother and effortless experience. It allows you to have more personal configurations with dynamic color capabilities. You can transform your entire phone experience according to your chosen wallpaper. The UI also comes more responsive than before.

Nokia C100 ensures its users have advanced security locks for better privacy. This phone features face recognition to unlock the phone. Besides, many sensors are available, including the accelerometer, ambient light sensor, barometer, and proximity sensor. Those all will be helpful for users’ better experience when using the phone.

Connectivity

Connect with others while using the Nokia C100 (HMD Global N152DL) with the 4G LTE technology. It may not be the latest 5G one, but we think for an entry-level smartphone, it’s still acceptable. Since the 4G LTE connectivity is accessible in a wider range area. You can also use Wi-Fi as an alternative if no data connection is available.

Moreover, this smartphone has other connectivity. Includes Bluetooth 5.0 allows you to send files wirelessly or connect with other devices such as Bluetooth speakers, etc. A USB Type-C cable can also help you connect with computers and transfer some wired files.

Battery

Despite its affordable prices, the Nokia C100 (TF HMD Nokia N152DL LTE) handset puts many considerations towards the battery capacity. This phone has a 4,000mAh removable battery to support its users’ activity. You can expect the battery to last all day long in normal usage (without using it for heavy activities).

The phone battery type is a removable one. It means users can be more flexible with the battery. You can always bring another separate battery if you’re in outdoor activities/ traveling. It will be very convenient for you.

The USB Type-C is used to charge the battery. The charge time is considered normal for us. However, we noticed there is no fast charging available.

Is the Nokia C100 N152DL a good phone?

At this point, we’ve seen the phone’s good and “so-so” aspects from this Nokia C100 review. Generally speaking, the Nokia C100 (HMD Global N152DL)has left us with many good impressions, especially with only the $39 price. For starters, we’re happy to see the latest Android 12 OS, a decent 3GB RAM, and obviously an affordable price.

It also has some drawbacks, such as a low-quality camera and standard-looking phone design. Although, it is not as outstanding as the flagship or mid-range smartphone. We still recommend this Nokia C100 for you looking for a smartphone but limited on budget.

Pros: Android 12, decent 3GB RAM, affordable price

Cons: low-quality camera, standard design
